  • Oil (1 tbsp )
  • Green Cabbage (4 cups, chopped )
  • Carrots (3 large, chopped )
  • Celery (2 rib, finely chopped )
  • Onion (1 medium, finely chopped )
  • Chicken Broth (3 cups )
  • Tomato (1 can, with Italian seasonings )
  • Salt (1 tsp )
  • Pepper (1/4 tsp )

Instructions to make Cabbage Soup Recipe

Step #1

In a large soup pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add cabbage, carrots, celery and onion and cook, stirring often, until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Step #2

Add broth, tomatoes, salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer, cover and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until all vegetables are tender (40-60 minutes, depending on your preferred consistency).

Step #3

Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
